Virgin Australia Plans Cairns – Tokyo Boeing 737 MAX Service From June 2023

Virgin Australia as of late-Tuesday (13DEC22) evening European time opened reservation for its planned service to Japan, scheduled in mid-2023. First revealed on AeroRoutes, the airline is launching Boeing 737 MAX 8 service on Cairns – Tokyo Haneda route from 28JUN23, subject to government approval.

Configuration of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on this route is J8Y168, with Business Class in 2-2 configuration.

The airline previously planned to operate Brisbane – Tokyo Haneda service with Airbus A330-200 aircraft on daily basis from 29MAR20.

Virgin Australia in mid-2023 plans to launch service to Japan with revised routing. Set to open reservation soon, the airline plans to operate Cairns – Tokyo Haneda nonstop service on board Boeing 737 MAX 8, effective 28JUN23.

Service is operated by Virgin Australia International on daily basis, subject to government approval.
