China Eastern Expands Oceania Service From late-Jan 2023

China Eastern in late-January 2023 plans to expand service to Oceania from late-January 2023, including service to Auckland and Sydney. Planned operation as follows.

Shanghai Pu Dong – Auckland eff 22JAN23 Increase from 2 to 3 weekly, 787-9/A330-200 (A330 only from 08FEB23)

Shanghai Pu Dong – Sydney
eff 19JAN23 Increase from 1 to 3 weekly, 777-300ER. From 01FEB23, service increases to daily, while switching aircraft to A350-900XWB
MU561 PVG2030 – 1000+1SYD 359 D
MU562 SYD1230 – 1950PVG 359 D

The aircraft change for Sydney was filed in late-afternoon hours local time in China.

Previously reported on Monday 09JAN23, the Skyteam member will resume Shanghai Pu Dong – Melbourne service from 23JAN23, with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
