Qantas Returns to Cocos Islands Since mid-60s; Christmas Island Nov 2025 Launch

Qantas from November 2025 plans to launch service to Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands, assuming existing service operated by Virgin Australia.

Airbus A320 aircraft will operate service to/from Perth, with fuel stop at Learmonth on westbound flight.

Despite the oneWorld member’s press release claims it is operating service to both islands for the first time, Qantas previously served Cocos (Keeling) Islands until 1966 (or early 67) as part of its routing to South Africa, where it operated Sydney – Melbourne – Perth – Cocos Islands – Mauritius – Johannesburg, on board Lockheed Electra on weekly basis (QF621/622).

Following service will be operated by QantasLink (Network Aviation) A320 aircraft.
