WestJet Adds Winnipeg / Edmonton – Iceland Service in NS26

WestJet today (18NOV25) announced the launch of two routes to Iceland in Northern summer 2026 season, which was not included in yesterday’s post of the airline’s planned network expansion.
AeroRoutes’ research of the planned new routes, were only focusing on the dates of 20JUL26 – 23JUL26 while searching individual flight numbers for flight number WS1 to WS99.
Edmonton – Reykjavík Keflavík 26JUN26 – 04SEP26 1 weekly 737 MAX 8

Winnipeg – Reykjavík Keflavík 27JUN26 – 05SEP26 1 weekly 737 MAX 8

WestJet last offered Trans-Atlantic service from Winnipeg until August 2019, when it offered 1 weekly Winnipeg – London Gatwick with Boeing 767. WestJet’s addition also marks the return of service between Winnipeg and Reykjavík Keflavík, when Iceland Express operated service in 2010 and 2011. Initially 2 weekly flights were offered in summer 2010, 1 weekly in summer 2011.

“As per 29JAN10 GDS timetable display, the following is planned 2 weekly service schedule of Reykjavik - Winnipeg route, which operates from 02JUN10 to 28AUG10:

In Sabre timetable display, service to Winnipeg as well as Newark are showing Boeing 737-700 operating, instead of planned Boeing 757.”
