United Begins Guam / Tokyo 737 MAX 8 Service From late-April 2026

United during Thursday (29JAN26) evening’s schedule update gradually filed Boeing 737 MAX 8 operations at Guam and Tokyo, now scheduled from late-April 2026. Initially the Boeing 737 MAX 8 to operate following routes, replacing 737-800.

The Star Alliance member in late-September 2025 announced its intention to transition Guam-based 737-800 fleet to 737 MAX 8, although at the time it anticipated the transition to begin in February 2026.

Guam – Tokyo Narita eff 30APR26 UA196/197 Day 26 from GUM, Day 15 from NRT (operational day varies 30APR26 – 04MAY26)
Tokyo Narita – Koror eff 02MAY26 2 weekly
Tokyo Narita – Ulaanbaatar eff 30APR26 3 weekly

Additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 service in Micronesia and East Asia region to be filed in the next few weeks.
