China Eastern Partially Restores Japan Capacity in NS26

China Eastern earlier this month filed additional changes to its service to Japan for Northern summer 2026 season, effective 29MAR26. Despite overall flight reductions remain unchanged at 54% (reduced from 24 routes and 225 weekly to 10 routes and 103 weekly, based on comparison 25JAN26 vs 22MAR26 comparison, using calendar week 29 as general reference), the airline has filed aircraft upgauge on all operational routes.

With all routes now receiving additional capacity, the airline now reduces from originally filed 36909 weekly seats (one-way from China to Japan) as of 25JAN26 to 23449 seats a of 22MAR26, representing 36% capacity reduction. The airline as 01FEB26 initially filed 18325 weekly seats, which would have been 50% reductions.
