Indonesia AirAsia Further Reduces 2Q26 Operations

Indonesia AirAsia last week filed further changes to its planned operation in the second quarter of 2026.

The carrier’s domestic service reductions, previously scheduled from 29MAR26 to 30APR26, has been extended to 31MAY26, including 5 routes cancellation instead of previously planned 1. Based on schedule filing comparison 22MAR26 vs 12APR26, the airline reduces from 3382 flights for the period of 29MAR26 – 31MAY26 to 2538 flights, approximately 25% cut.

Denpasar – Balikpapan eff 13APR26 4 weekly service cancelled (Previous: eff 05MAY26)
Denpasar – Banjarmasin eff 14APR26 3 weekly service cancelled
Jakarta – Manado 16APR26 – 21MAY26 1 daily service cancelled
Makassar – Luwuk 16APR26 – 21MAY26 1 daily service cancelled
Makassar – Palu 16APR26 – 21MAY26 2 daily service cancelled
Overall service to Luwuk, Manado and Palu will not be available between 16APR26 and 21MAY26.

On international routes, the airline reduces various services between 11APR26 and 15JUN26 (some of the service cancellations are being maintained to late-October), resulting in 19% service cuts, based on schedule filing comparison 22MAR26 vs 12APR26, which the airline reduced from 3012 flights (one-way from Indonesia) to 2433 flights.
