Chinese Airlines Reduces 25% Japan Service in Dec 2025

Various Chinese carriers in the last few days continue to adjust planned operations to Japan, as most reductions currently focusing on December 2025. Based on OAG schedules analyser data filed 16NOV25 vs 30NOV25, 16 Chinese carriers, has reduced service from 4703 one-way flights (from China to Japan) and 884148 seats, to 3537 flights and 672568 seats.

Overall reduction sees 25% in terms of number of flights, while capacity reduced by 24%.

The following 15 routes has been cancelled from December 2025 (routes marked with * represents previously scheduled from January 2026) with no alternative nonstop flight options by other Chinese carriers:

Sapporo New Chitose (CTS) sees the most reductions in December 2025, as Chinese carriers either cancelled planned seasonal service, or scaling back seasonal increases. 6 airlines have reduced from 242 flights to 138 flights, while capacity reduced from 50696 seats to 27932 seats, approximately 43% flights and 45% capacity reductions.

Osaka Kansai (KIX) also sees major reductions from 2123 flights to 1373 flights in December 2025, while capacity reduced from 389613 seats to 258668 seats, approximately 35% flight and 34% capacity reductions.

Tokyo Narita (NRT) also saw reduction from 929 flights to 820 flights, while capacity reduced from 180527 to 158889 seats, approximately 12% reductions for both flights and capacity. Okinawa (OKA) sees 28% capacity reductions.
